Storm Teams are USSSA National Champions

The 10U and 12U Storm teams arrived at the USSSA Nationals in Leesburg Virginia with a mission to play hard and have fun. After an exhausting schedule and sweltering heat, both teams came home with the gold rings given only to the champions.

The 10U Storm team, coached by Tim Mullin, dominated the field of 17 teams, winning every game they played by an average margin of 6 runs. In the finals, the 10U Storm beat the NEPA Shockwave in a nail-biter 3-2, with the winning run coming just before time expired.

Coaches Dave Taylor and Brett Michener led the 12U Storm Blue team to seven victories, staying at the top of the winner's bracket until a loss to the GC Lady Brawlers in the Championship Game. Storm had been the only undefeated team out of 32 teams until that loss. Due to double elimination, the two teams were forced to play each other again in another championship game. In an amazing pitcher's duel, 12U Storm Blue triumphed over the Lady Brawlers with a 1-0 victory to win the championship.

Congratulations to all of the players, coaches, parents, siblings and relatives who came out, braved the blistering temperatures and showed everyone that Mt. Laurel is the home of champions!
